Wreckage of a Wellington bomber crashed on a Welsh hillside
On 6th July 1942, a Wellington bomber (R1465) of the RCAF crashed into Cwar y Gigfran and all five crew members were killed (R88687 F/Sgt. J. B. Kemp, R71725 F/Sgt. E. E. Mittel, R75322 Sgt. H. C. Beatty, R82352 Sgt. J. P. Hayes and R106035 Sgt. K. F. Yuill). The wreckage is still there today.
